Siedlungswerk GmbH company is one of the leading housing and urban development companies in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, they have erected a monumental pillar in memory of Hermann Fechenbach in the Steckfeld settlement (Hohenheim), where they have built apartments. Hermann Fechenbach was the first resident of the then newly built settlement in Steckfeld on the outskirts of Stuttgart. Hermann and his wife Greta lived in a bungalow in Steckfeld from roughly 1930 to 1939, when they fled to England to escape the Nazi persecution.
